Powering sustainable operations in South Africa
Smith Power Equipment (SPE) has taken an important step towards more sustainable operations with the opening of its new premises in The Bridge of Stellenbosch.
As the first company to establish a building in the new estate, SPE recognized its responsibility to reduce environmental impact from day one. Working closely with the estate, SPE commissioned a grid‑tie solar system that feeds renewable energy directly into the main power supply. This not only lowers reliance on the national grid — largely powered by coal — but also reduces energy costs and generates clean electricity that future tenants in the park can benefit from as well. With this initiative, SPE is helping shape a more energy‑efficient and sustainable business ecosystem for the region.
